ABOUT DR JACLYN
Nice to meet you!
My Philosophy
Hi, I am Jaclyn Perchaluk and I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with a passion for helping others live healthier and more fulfilled lives. I strongly believe in addressing the root causes of illness and taking a proactive and preventative nature to your personal health. With a positive, non-judgmental attitude, I enjoy educating and empowering my patients through interactive discussions. I practice using the Naturopathic principles including treating the physical, mental and emotional aspects of each patient. I am dedicated to providing my patients with individualized, natural solutions however I recognize that in some cases there might be a need for collaboration with conventional medical practices.
My Healing Story
My natural healing journey began when I was a student at the University of Western Ontario. Like many people today, I developed migraines that interfered with my daily life. I was put on medication but the drugs made me feel nauseous and tired. With some investigation, I was able to find the root of my migraines and get off the medications (with a little help from natural supplements). While volunteering at the University of Waterloo's student health clinic during my premedical studies, I saw many students in my former situation. I was frustrated that students were only getting harsh medications for symptoms and no one was discussing how to prevent them in the first place. Knowing that natural medicine helped me, I wanted to empower, help and educate others about the awesome power of natural medicine.
My Education
For my education, I have completed the rigorous four-year Naturopathy degree program from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. This included a one year clinical internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic. I strongly believe that everyone should have access to community health care. To practice what I preach, I volunteered at Anishnawbe, an integrative aboriginal health clinic and Queen West Health Centre, a center that focuses on serving the underprivileged in Toronto. I also travelled to Guatemala to provide Naturopathic care to under serviced rural areas of the country. Before embarking on my Naturopathic journey, I completed an honours BA in Anthropology from the University of Western Ontario and completed premedical studies from the University of Waterloo. I am a life-long learner and I am currently enrolled well-known MD and herbalist Aviva Romm’s program Herbal Medicine for Women. I also attended Harvard Medical School's The Herbert Benson Course in Mind Body Medicine Conference in the fall of 2018.

UPDATE: I have successfully completed the Prescribing and Therapeutics Examination which allows me to prescribe certain restricted drugs and herbs including injectable B12, desiccated thyroid gland and bio-identical hormones.
I am licensed through the College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
I am also a member of inVIVO Planetary Health Network.
When I'm not busy at the clinic, you will often find me running along Pittock as I train for my next 10km race. I also enjoy hiking, travelling the world and spending time with my family and friends.
I look forward to meeting you and getting to know YOU better!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jaclyn ND
